"We had a very good holiday we enjoyed the villa, the weather and the general area. The villa met our expectations but the photos are misleading. They have obviously been taken to maximise the features but do not show how overlooked it is and how close to other property.

"Shepherds House is a beautiful house, spotlessly clean and very tastefully furnished. Everything works and the kitchen is well kitted out. Husseyin the manager and his son looked after us really well and were very helpful. The pool is a reasonable in size, well maintained and clean and was much appreciated as it was extremely hot when we were there in July. I suggest you take some DVDs especailly if you have teenagers and plenty of books. Definitely a place to make your own entertainment and relax."

"Lovely characterful villa in a relatively undeveloped setting - close to beach and great views. Comfortable inside - has AC for the summer - and kitchen adequately equipped for basic cooking. Turkish Haman a novelty - and a treat! Location quiet a beginning of season."

"Well equipped villa with beautiful sea views a short drive from the lovely seaside villages of Gumusluk and Yalikavak. A car is essential as the villa is someway from all amenities although it is possible to walk down to the local beach for a swim in the sea. The local roads aren’t very good and to get out of the Villa you have to go over a sizeable hill which our automatic hire car struggled with. We found the whole area charming and the locals extremely friendly and helpful. Husseyin (and his son) the villa manager was extremly friendly and very very helpful. In late May when we went the climate was ideal warm but not to hot and most surprisening, as it was half term week it was not very busy! Much building work going on nearby but not intrusive or noisy (and behind property so you can't see it!). Car essential, so glad we had one Thoughraly recommend the Villa and this part of Turkey. "

"We are a little late in supplying a testimonial. This is because we have dilemma. Tell the truth and we might be instrumental in bring someone to Koyunbaba (Shepherds) Villa just when we wanted to go back- and boy do we want to go back. Tell a lie and we may possibly diminish the great sense of wellbeing, rejuvenation, contentment, etc etc. that we gathered from our visit. We don't want that so we will settle for the truth. The Villa is simply wonderful! Outstanding design, exceptionally well cared for and located in a beautiful place. Rarely can one admit that expectations have been exceeded- they were, and they were already high. Yes, it was very good value. And we would be delighted if a friend acted on our recommendation. To spend a holiday in such a place and be taken care of by a manager whose favourite phrase is "no problem" - well it takes some beating. Richard M Keenan."

"A very well equipped villa with beautiful sea views and a lovely well maintained pool, situated a short drive from the small seaside villages of Gumusluk, Yalikavak and Turgetreis. A car is pretty much essential due to the position on the peninsula, although it is possible to walk down to the beach for a swim in the sea. Like much of the peninsula the area is being developed, with new apartments under construction, but there is nothing to spoil the views and any noise is minimal.Huseyin was the perfect housekeeper, very friendly, always ready to assist and contributed to a wonderful holiday"

"Dear Sarah and Steve,
As promised just a short email to let you know our thoughts on the villa at Gumusluk…

I say "short" because it can be summed up in one word…. "Perfect!!!"

I do not often get to use that word but that is how we both felt about our stay. Everything involved in was as good as it could have been!

From the booking via Villa Renters, right the way through to be delivered back to Bodrum Airport, we could not fault one single thing.

The villa itself exceeded all our expectations! It is a beautiful villa, furnished very tastefully and in keeping with the locale. The layout and design is superb and we particularly liked the opportunity to sneak out for a quick dip during the night!!! (Although it was a tad chilly!!!)

Seriously though, we thought the location was excellent - close enough to the sea for an easy walk, close enough to the shops to easily get supplies etc and yet far enough away to give us the sense of peace and isolation we were looking for.

From the moment Vika and I arrived (in the middle of the night!!) to be greeted by Husseyin with a warm welcome and a cold beer, we knew we had made the right choice.

We had a beautiful time here and although we spent most of it either on one of the local beaches or by the pool, we also took the time to find a couple of superb local restaurants and have look around Gumusluk itself!

We did not want to leave and want to return soon - possibly next year!

I have no hesitation in saying that this was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable holidays I have had for a long time and I know Vika feels the same way!!

Lovely villa, lovely location, great holiday… What more can I say except… Thank you!!!

Regards and best wishes,

Nigel and Vika.
